Want to make sustainability learning practical and memorable for your students in 2026 without extra work or costs? The ReThink Waste Schools Program brings hands-on, curriculum-aligned waste education directly to schools across Tasmania, making it easier for teachers and inspiring for students.

Our Engagement Officers deliver tailored 40-minute incursions that align with V9 of the Australian F-10 Curriculum for HASS, Science, Technologies, and the Sustainability Cross-Curriculum Priority. Students dive into why waste matters and how to avoid, reduce, reuse and recycle through interactive activities like sorting challenges, FOGO bins and local recycling solutions. No prep is needed, our team arrives with everything required, including resources and activities.

How does it work?

  • Your region’s Engagement Officer will contact you to discuss class needs and goals.
  • Choose a date and time that fits your school schedule.
  • Our presenter arrives fully equipped and delivers an engaging session.

All Engagement Officers hold Working with Vulnerable People cards, DECYP safeguarding certification and Public Liability insurance. We specialise in tailoring content for each year group and council area, helping you and your students master the waste rules specific to your community.

What teachers say:
“The delivery changed for each grade. I like how the presenter used the interest of students to guide discussion.” – STEM Teacher
“Fits nicely with our science material unit and looking after our environment.” – Prep Teacher
