[Dunalley] Be A Good Sort | Community Waste Education

11 August 2026 12:30 am

Dunalley Tasman Neighbourhood House: Tuesday, August 11 from 12:30 am to 1:30 pm

Be A Good Sort is a community waste education program designed to inspire everyday action and lasting behaviour change across Tasmania. Through positive, practical messaging aligned with the waste hierarchy—avoid, reduce, reuse, recycle—the program empowers households with the knowledge and tools needed to minimise waste and make more sustainable choices at home.

These sessions are designed to be hands-on and accessible, helping participants better understand how to reduce household waste, correctly sort recycling, and minimise contamination in kerbside collections. With a focus on practical, action-oriented learning, Be A Good Sort supports Tasmanians to take small, meaningful steps that collectively make a big impact on reducing waste.

Delivered by ReThink Waste Tasmania in collaboration with Dunalley Tasman Neighbourhood House, this session will cover key topics such as what belongs in your recycling and FOGO bins, simple ways to cut down on food waste, and plenty of Q&A time,

We hope you can attend!

This venue is wheelchair accessible.

ReThink Waste Tasmania is a statewide waste education initiative provided through a collaborative partnership between Tasmania’s three regional waste bodies – TasWaste South, Cradle Coast Waste Management Group and Circular North. It is supported by the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Board, which is funded by the Tasmanian Government.

ReThink Waste Tasmania acknowledges Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the traditional owners of the lands we learn on and pays respects to Elders past and present. We acknowledge the continued connection to Land, Water, and Sky Country and the cultural practices which have kept Country healthy for thousands of years.
